What is Village of Change?
Village of Change is a crowdfunding platform for high school seniors going to college. We are passionate about education and aim to provide students with the opportunity to crowdfund essential items needed for their first year.
How does it work?
Village of Change provides a crowdfunding platform for high school seniors to create a wish list of essential items needed for their first year of college. We then invite the greater community to actively participate and provide support in helping students fund these items.
Is it free?
YES! It is completely free for students and supporters to sign up and create a profile.
Are there any fees?
While it is free to sign up and create a profile, there are fees associated with each fundraiser goal. For more info, please read our Fees page.
What is a fundraiser goal?
A fundraiser goal is the amount set to successfully fund an item and have it shipped to your door. The fundraiser goal includes: item amount, taxes/shipping and applicable fees.
Where do I put in my shipping address?
When starting a fundraiser for the first time, you will be asked for your shipping address. You may go to the settings page to add/edit your shipping address at any time.
What if I don't see an item I need?
We do our best to create a selection of items for a student's first year of college. If there is an item you need that is not in our selection, go to the Add Fundraisers page and click on Request an Item. Send us an email with the item info or URL and we will do our best to add it to our selection.
How do I purchase an item?
Once a fundraiser goal has been met, simply log in and click Purchase on the item thumbnail. The purchase will be made and you will receive shipping details for your item within 1-2 business days.
How do I fund an item?
Once you find a student you would like to support, simply review their wish list and choose an item you would like to fund. Click "Donate" and proceed through the checkout process to help fund this item.
What is the minimum donation amount?
The minimum donation amount is $5.00. However, if there is a fundraiser below $5.00, a supporter is able to make a donation below the minimum donation amount in order to closeout that fundraiser.
Who can sign up?
Students: Current high school seniors applying to and planning to attend college or current college freshmen.
Supporters: Any person over the age of 13 who wants to give back and support students seeking a higher education.
Why give back?
This site aims to create a community of supporters who believe in the power of higher education. We seek to provide an opportunity to give back and help students with their college expenses.

How do I make my profile private?
Go to the Settings page and click the button in the top right-hand corner to ON. This will set your profile to private. When your profile is private, it may not be seen by others. Supporters may not fund items.
How long is my student profile active?
Student profiles are active for a period of 18 months. This timeframe allows you to use the platform as you transition from your senior year of high school into your first year of college. After 18 months, your profile will change into a supporter profile. It is our hope that you will continue to pay it forward by helping another student as they transition from high school into their first year of college.
How long is my supporter profile active?
A supporter profile has no time limitations. Your profile is active until you decide to delete your account.
